Pleasantville finds themselves aching for closure in debut single “Steel-eyed”

Date:

Pleasantville - "Steel-eyed"

In the heart of Pleasantville, New York, filled with rustling leaves and indie allure, a new artist, Pleasantville, emerged. Named after the town of Pleasantville, this musical venture breaks the boundaries of conventional indie sounds while drawing on rock and Britpop influences.

Featuring veteran indie artist Aaron David Gleason and background vocals from Emma Freeman, the group has released their debut single, “Steel-eyed.” Aaron found producer Daniel Gleason, who he is not related to, and together they channel the essence of home in Pleasantville.

In “Steel-eyed,” Freeman adds an eerie, haunting quality to the track with her background vocals, while drummer Ben Homola from Grouplove, becomes the beating heart for the song.

Aaron delivers his vocals with a resolute and steadfast attitude, conveying a sense of unwavering determination after going through a heartbreak. The lyrics express a desire for closure, “Someone has got to make this complete / Steel-eyed ‘cause I’ve seen too much.” The outcome is a blend of alternative rock brilliance, indie mastery and distant melodies that defines the spirit of Pleasantville.
