Everyone reacts to the news in some way. Tom Odell has announced his upcoming albm, A Wonderful Life, an exploration of despair, frustration and helplessness. The album is due out Sept. 5.
Odell spent nine months fine-tuning lyrics for the album, and also shared the brand-new single from the album: “Don’t Cry, Put Your Head On My Shoulder.”

“I labored over every line,” Odell said. “I went in on those words every day, just refining and refining and refining. I can be a bit obsessive, and the obsessive part of me is probably the worst part of me and the bit that I would pay so much money for a therapist to tell me how to lose. But it’s also the bit that does not give up on songs.”
The renowned British singer recorded the forthcoming album in Church Studios, HOXA and RAK Studios’ legendary Room One. He and his band recorded everything live with the instruments “bleeding in on one another” for a more authentic sound, according to a release.
Tom Odell is set to take his new music, including “Don’t Let Me Go,” on tour this month across the UK, Europe and North America. Odell is currently on the road with Billie Eilish for select European arena dates of the sold-out Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour and will support The Lumineers this summer for select U.S. arena dates of the Automatic World Tour.
