10 years, five records, one electrifying sound.

London-based jazztronic duo Blue Lab Beats (multi-instrumentalist Mr DM and producer NK-OK) have just released their fifth studio album. The Blue Lab Beats Show appears in celebratory variety talk-show format highlighting the group’s Afrobeat fusion with hip-hop, jazztronica, R&B , and soul, ultimately bringing immaculate vibes to the function.

Kicking things off is “North London Pace,” an ode to their hometown roots brimming with a lush ‘70s jazz fusion of hip-hop and funk. The city’s soundscape varies from one block to the next, and the pace of this song is all you need to vibe out to it.

“Champions League,” featuring London rapper FourNine, is a nod to the UEFA Champions League, Europe’s most prestigious soccer tournament. The track opens with a high-pitched chorus as FourNine’s flows dig deeper into the struggles of growing up Black in London and rising up to the challenge. The song features jazztronic and soul aesthetics that will get you motivated when times are tough. The track can also be seen as a metaphor of a soccer team in the league navigating the season.

“Slow Heart” features Chicago’s Jamila Woods in a lively, vibrant jazz and R&B fusion that confronts love and the tensions that come with it. “Enjoy The Show! (Interlude)” is a 26-second track that quickly hypes fans up and thanks them for rocking with the band for 10 years now.

“Blue Lotus” is the standout track on the record. Its calming jazztronic and lo-fi production feels at ease, bring vibes for a perfect day vibes. It’s ideal to play during a solo walk through the city or while hanging out with friends. “Hear It Pop,” on the other hand, features Denzel Himself and is made for the breakdancers. The grimy atmosphere and old-school production take it back to dancers battling out in the street anywhere and anytime.

“Fire Up” featuring SANITY and Blackout sets fire to the dance floor, fusing dancehall and rap with thought-provoking lyrics addressing politics and freedom. “Sao Paolo To Motherland” features FourNine once again as well as Brazilian rapper MC Igu. This track brings Brazil to London with Carnival vibes and an energetic fusion of Baile Funk and West African guitars. It also sprinkles in some nods to soccer’s greats, such Brazil’s pride: the late Pelé.

Continuing with the Brazilian groove is “Watermelon.” This groovy bossa nova track is infused with jazztronica, enticing you to hit the dance floor. It also fits perfectly as the soundtrack to summer 2026 with the World Cup festivities just around the corner.

Ending The Blue Lab Beats Show is “The End (Outro),” as the duo thanks fans for tuning into the show and supporting their music. They also take a moment to thank local music groups in London’s scene.

Blue Lab Beat’s The Blue Lab Beats Show is a celebratory milestone of a record, highlighting the band’s ever-changing discography and collaborating with independent artists in London’s music scene. Its infectious grooves put their experimental sound at the forefront.
