Buckhead Theatre was the place to be for metal fans on June 18th as Jinjer rolled into Atlanta with support from Crystal Lake and Entheos. All three bands are known for pushing heavy music in their own unique ways, which resulted in a night that delivered exactly what fans were hoping for, crushing riffs, incredible screams, and enough energy to leave everyone exhausted by the end of the show.
Crystal Lake got things started, and they didn’t waste a second getting the crowd amped up. The Japanese metalcore band hit the stage with a ton of intensity, resulting a floor that was a chaotic mix of mosh pits and fans screaming along. Every song in their set felt like you had just been punched in the chest. Touring vocalist Myke Terry looked completely at home fronting the band, bringing a huge presence and delivering every song with the same ferocity that he brings to Fire From the Gods. Backed by massive guitar tones and relentless drumming, Crystal Lake tore through their set and immediately got the crowd riled up for the night ahead. For an opening act, they set the bar incredibly high.
Entheos followed and brought a completely different flavor to the theatre. While Crystal Lake relied on raw aggression, Entheos leaned into technicality and progressive riffs. Frontwoman Chaney Crabb immediately drew attention as soon as she stepped onstage, effortlessly switching between harsh screeches and melodic passages while maintaining complete control of the stage. The band’s technical ability was on full display throughout the set. Every song was packed with intricate rhythms, impressive guitar work, and enough twists and turns to keep even the most diehard prog fans excited. Despite the complexity of the material, everything felt natural and fluid, like a well-oiled metal machine!
Next up where the Ukrainian juggernauts Jinjer. As soon as the band walked onstage, and from the first note it was clear Atlanta was in for something special. Tatiana Shmayluk remains one of the most impressive frontwomen in metal today. Seeing her effortlessly move from haunting clean vocals to bone-crushing growls is still something that feels almost impossible, even after years of watching videos online. What stands out even more is how naturally she commands a stage, especially considering her history as an extreme introvert. Whether she was engaging with fans in the front row or moving across the stage during the heavier moments, she never let the energy dip.
The rest of Jinjer were equally impressive, with Roman’s guitar work being razor sharp all night, and bassist Eugene and drummer Vlad formed the backbone of the band’s unmistakable groove-heavy sound, with some dope low-end work. The setlist offered a little bit of everything fans could want. Songs like “Pisces,” “Green Serpent,” and “Rogue” drew huge reactions proving newer material hits just as effective live as the classics. The crowd responded to every breakdown, every groove, and every crushing riff with nonstop energy. Even during the more technical sections, fans remained completely wild.
By the time the final song ended, Buckhead Theatre had witnessed one of the strongest metal lineups to come through Atlanta this year. Crystal Lake brought pure chaos, Entheos showcased incredible technical talent, and Jinjer delivered the kind of headlining performance that reminds you why they’re one of the most respected bands in modern metal. From start to finish, it was an outstanding night of heavy music.
