Chloe Star released her new single “you say,” on Friday, in which she addresses what it feels like to be ghosted and lied to by someone you care about.
“you say” uses energetic rock production to zoom in on the moment when rage gives into a crisp clarity. Chloe leans into the disappointment that occurs when someone’s words don’t align with their actions. Chloe had this to say about her new single:
“I wrote this for anyone who’s ever been ghosted, left on read, or promised ‘I’m on the way’ by someone who never shows up.”
This feeling is all too familiar to many listeners, and Chloe has hit the nail on the head yet again through her relatable lyrics. “you say” was clearly made for anyone who’s done showing up for someone who doesn’t reciprocate that effort.
