Slush Puppy‘s newest single “Killin Butterflies” is out now via MDDN Records and 10k Projects.
The hard-hitting project blends EDM and trap with grunge and emo influences, creating a cathartic anthem that feels equally at home on a dance floor or in a mosh pit. The track’s sonic tension mirrors its subject matter: the addictive pull of a toxic relationship and the painful realization that something you love may ultimately be hurting you.
Slush Puppy touches more on the meaning of the song, stating;
“‘Killin Butterflies’ is about being addicted to someone who destroys the very things you love about them. The butterflies represent innocence, beauty, and that feeling you get when you’re falling for somebody, and the song lives in that tension between passion and self-destruction.”
In addition to his artist career, Slush Puppy built an impressive résumé as a songwriter and producer, collaborating with artists including Snow Wife, CORTIS, Katy Perry, KATSEYE, ADÉLA, and Royal & the Serpent.
