Inhaler newest single “Your House” captures the vibe of 70s indie rock

Date:

The indie rock band Inhaler is taking us back with their newest single “Your House.” The track heavily draws from 70s-style rock and it’s a new sound for the band. This song is the first off their third album Open Wide, out February 7th of next year. The song’s catchy low bass percussion and dreamy vocals paired with a few surprises make for an exciting new sound that is still authentic for the band.

The track immediately opens with a heavy bass melody, but is then overtaken when vocalist Elijah Hewson comes in. His tone is clear and bright, tying in the more upbeat guitar melody that comes after the opening verse. However, what will jump out at any fan of the genre is the gospel choir doing harmonies and ending out the track. It’s a rather unique blend of sounds, and one that complements the track and themes of the song beautifully.

Lyrically, the song is fun and lighthearted, much like the themes of love it’s exploring. It seems to be expressing a love for another person so strong that you’re attached no matter what. The lyrics go “Said oh love / there ain’t a sharp enough knife / to cut you out my life / I’m going to your house tonight.” The lyrical composition of this first single leaves many to ponder what other themes will be explored on the new album.

In combination with this new single, they are currently on a four-week tour across the US and will be heading to the UK on a tour supporting the new album in 2025. Overall, the song exemplifies Inhaler’s truly signature sound with twists that elevate the track to another level. The band adding layered harmonies with a choir and having the romantic vibe and that old-fashion rocked sound proves just how introspective they really are.
