President release debut single “In the Name of the Father”

Date:

President, rock music’s latest anonymous group, share their debut single “In the Name of the Father.” After months of ominous social media posts, the mysterious masked metal group have released their debut musical project alongside a music video.

Along with the debut single release, no further news has been revealed regarding the band’s identity or band members’ names. In a statement regarding “In the Name of the Father,” the band said, “Something has been stirring. A growing noise, a ripple through the republic of the underground. We called. You listened. Your curiosity, your questions, your conversation…We have witnessed it all. Here, we make our first proclomation. ‘In the Name of the Father.’ This is the first crack in the surface. This is your PRESIDENT. We’ll be seeing you soon. Godspeed.”

The band first made headway back in February, when they revealed themselves as metal’s latest group of masked musicians. President also announced they would be performing at this year’s Download Festival, despite not having any music released. President’s introduction brought with it a number of theories, most of them believing that President may be a spinoff group from Sleep Token, another famous masked rock group, who happen to be headlining at Download.

“In the Name of the Father,” the highly-anticipated debut single from President, is conveyed as a melodic, pop-infused metalcore track as it combines autotuned vocals and beats with heavy screams and breakdowns. In the single’s music video, viewers primarily see President’s masked lead singer delivering the song as he stands in dimly-lit hallways, sits in an office smoking a cigarette and singing in a red-lit room.

Along with the debut song President have updated their website, changing the format from a countdown to the single release to an official website. The website now has merch — what they refer to as “uniforms” — for sale, and it lists upcoming live shows — or rallies.
