Melanie Herrera releases “I Think I Lied” ahead of debut album ‘A Fearful & Wondrous Thing’

Date:

NYC-based singer-songwriter Melanie Herrera has just released her newest single “I Think I Lied.”

Along with the release, Melanie has announced her debut album, A Fearful & Wondrous Thing, out May 28.

“I Think I Lied” is playful and flirtatious, leaning into the charged uncertainty of romantic impulse. Melanie captures the tension of contradiction with a track that feels both light on its feet and emotionally restless, building toward a bridge that swells with rising anticipation.

Melanie shares about the song;

“’I Think I Lied’ is a sexy, playful contradiction about the moment you realize you didn’t quite mean your goodbye, and how easy it is to romanticize something you meant to let go.”

The project is the last pre-release single from Herrera’s upcoming album and offers a glimpse into A Fearful & Wondrous Thing‘s magical world. About the album overall, Melanie shares:

At its core, this record is an arrival—both to life and to myself as an artist. I’m a late bloomer who spent years believing I wasn’t someone who could accomplish great things, which kept me rooted in anxiety and self-doubt,” she reveals. “These songs came after I finally broke free of that story, and they reflect a life lived in full, complete with love, grief, mystery, joy, and all the beautiful chaos of being alive.”
