Melodic Music Monday: April 6

Date:

Every Monday, we bring you a playlist filled with new tracks the Melodic staff has been listening to on repeat. Hear some of our latest obsessions below:

——

OneRepublic, “Need Your Love” – “Need Your Love” is a true heartfelt pop anthem that will have listeners coming back again and again. The single puts a modern twist on nostalgic pop music, making it a track that will not only have the audience reminiscing on past loving memories, but also make them excited for the love they currently share with someone or the love they’ll experience in the future.

– Ashanti Meadows

——

Chelsea Cutler, “SORRY I’M OBSESSED WITH YOU” – “SORRY I’M OBSESSED WITH YOU” is a moody, synth-heavy pop offering, in which the singer-songwriter delivers some of her catchiest moments. In its hypnotic chorus, Cutler sings, “Baby come put me in my place /  got me addicted to your taste / Criminal all the things I do / Sorry I’m obsessed with you.”

– Germano Blanco

——

Royal & The Serpent, “Steering (So Fast)” – This track has the raw intimacy and modern feel that is just the right combination to make it timeless. It is an engaging followup to last month’s double singles “Favorite Person” and “Fiona” that’ll have listeners counting down the days until the album releases for another taste from the album’s narrator “R”.

– Sydney Carper

——

Estella Dawn, “Hometown” – New Zealand-born, San Diego-based singer-songwriter Estella Dawn has proven again how fusing elements within genres can create standout singles. Her newest single “Hometown” is pop-adjacent with indie rock and country influences, and it’s giving Hannah Montana all grown up in the best way.
