Flipturn and The Brazen Youth give Chicago a spooky amount of fun on Halloween night

Date:

On October 31st, the band Flipturn and their openers, The Brazen Youth, performed at Lincoln Hall. In July, the band played at Lollapalooza, and ever since then, their following has grown immensely. You may know them from their song “August” released on their Citrona EP back in 2018.

Because of the Halloween festivities, many people showed up in costume and even the Lincoln Hall blasted iconic Halloween anthems like The Monster Mash and Season of the Witch in between sets. One clever fan even showed up in an orca costume, referencing the track Whales on Flipturn’s newest LP release, Shadowglow. It was so goofy to see rubber chickens attached to the mic stands and it didn’t necessarily connect with the audience until the band came out on stage dressed in chicken onesies. The chicken, who the band was dressing as, was named Jalapeño and even got his own sticker at the merch stand!

Lead singer Dillon Basse danced along with the audience during the show for an even more unforgettable experience! If you’re in the mood to have a ball and dance till you drop, going to the Flipturn show might be the perfect place to spend your night.
