Honey Revenge announces new album ‘Loving and Losing’ and dances with fate on new single “Butterfly Effect”

Date:

Honey Revenge has announced that their highly-anticipated sophomore album Loving and Losing will be released on September 18th via Thriller Records. Pre-order/pre-save for the album can be found here

Vocalist Devin Papadol and guitarist Donny Lloyd have become an undeniable force in the alternative scene since their debut album Retrovision gained a whirlwind of attention three years ago. The pop-rock duo’s upcoming record is striking evidence of their creative and personal evolution, tackling themes of self-discovery, loss and emotional duality across 14 dazzling tracks. Previous singles “Risk,” “Poison Apple Baby,” “Hot Commodity,” and “Run Your Mouth” introduced Loving and Losing’s concept with radiance, intention and versatility over the last year.

The pair’s latest effort, “Butterfly Effect,” lives in the space between anxiety and acceptance about the future. Honey Revenge faces the challenge of balancing surrender with reclamation, all in an attempt to connect the universe’s mysterious dots. The track deals with the deception of choice and the spiraling frustration of life’s unpredictability through soaring guitars, vulnerable lyricism and heartfelt precision.

Papadol’s vocals are stronger than ever as she carefully and urgently confronts this inner torment, singing, “Feels like I don’t have no say / The universe goes its own way / I want to know that I can choose / Whether I love or lose.”  No matter how much you try to resist the pull, “Butterfly Effect” is a hard-hitting reminder that what’s meant to be will always catch up to you. Speaking on the track, she shares,

“The Butterfly Effect is a concept where small, seemingly insignificant initial changes in events can lead to drastic and unpredictable consequences in the grand scheme of things. There’s an illusion that we as human beings have a choice in our own fate. Try as we might to be in control of every little thing in our lives, sometimes the universe has other plans in mind. This concept is explored in our new single ‘Butterfly Effect’. It can be comforting in tough times to lean into the idea that our destiny is somewhat predetermined. It makes transitional periods easier to power through.”

Honey Revenge will be headlining this year’s Idobi Radio Summer School Tour alongside Chase Petra, Winona Fighter, South Arcade and Games We Play. The 25-date U.S. run begins on June 19th in San Diego, CA, and finishes on July 25th in partnership with Vans Warped Tour for its Long Beach, CA, date. Tickets and information regarding all of the duo’s upcoming shows can be found here.
