AC/DC leaves Nashville “Thunderstruck”

Date:

Rock N Roll legends AC/DC brought the PWR UP TOUR to Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee earlier this week. Rescheduled due to a severe thunderstorm on Tuesday, fans of all ages lined the streets Wednesday ready to be “Thunderstruck” in all the best ways. Opening up the night, The Pretty Reckless set the mood for whats to come as tens of thousands of fans lined the stadium ready to rock.

The Pretty Reckless delivered a fierce and unapologetic opening set that proved they were more than worthy of sharing the stage with rock royalty. Frontwoman Taylor Momsen commanded attention with her smoky vocals and magnetic presence, ripping through fan favorites like “Heaven Knows” and “Death by Rock and Roll” with raw intensity. Backed by thunderous guitars and pounding drums, the band brought a dark, gritty edge to Nissan Stadium, setting the tone perfectly for the night’s main event. It was a powerful reminder that The Pretty Reckless isn’t just opening, they’re leading the next wave of modern rock.

As thousands of fans roared in unison—“AC/DC! AC/DC! AC/DC!”—the moment we had all been waiting for finally arrived. The opening notes of “If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It)” rang out, instantly igniting the crowd into a frenzy. From that point on, there was no turning back.

Brian Johnson’s gritty, powerhouse vocals cut through the wall of sound with authority. Whether delivering the bluesy punch of “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” or rallying the crowd with the stadium anthem “Thunderstruck,” Johnson commanded the stage like the seasoned frontman he is. But the true livewire of the night was guitarist Angus Young. Dressed in his iconic schoolboy outfit, he tore across the stage with endless energy, performing like a madman for the nearly two-hour set. He was relentless, a blur of motion and pure rock fury, and every solo reminded us why he remains one of the most electrifying guitarists in rock history.

The setlist was a dream for longtime fans featuring all the favorites “Back in Black,” “Have a Drink on Me,” and “You Shook Me All Night Long” each track a thunderous reminder of the band’s lasting impact. The show closed in legendary fashion with “For Those About to Rock (We Salute You),” complete with the iconic cannon salute that shook the venue to its core. The stage production was just as epic featuring towering Marshall stacks, a massive bell lowered for “Hells Bells,” and enough fireworks to light up the night sky. It was loud. It was heavy. It was exactly what you’d expect, and hope for from a band that helped define hard rock.

AC/DC proved once again that even decades into their career, they’re still one of the greatest live acts on Earth. It wasn’t just a concert it was a celebration of rock and roll in its rawest, most powerful form.  If you haven’t seen AC/DC live yet, there’s still time to feel the thunder.
