Gabrielle Ornate creates ethereal sound on “Nine Lives”

Gabrielle Ornate creates an ethereal sound on new single “Nine Lives.” The enchanting pop rock artist infuses each track with a message of self-acceptance and growth, this single being no different. “Nine Lives” invites listeners to explore themselves and find what their truth is in life. The single hopes to challenge listeners to “drain your pessimistic mind” and “swallow your ego” because everyone has “nine lives”.

While the lyrics are introspective and personal, the song creates a sound somewhere between the pop and rock genres. Combining upbeat pop beats and dark guitar riffs, “Nine Lives” defies easy categorization into one genre or another. The song begins with enchanting vocalizations which bleed into the almost pop-like vocals of the first verse. The song continues going back and forth between an ethereal vocalization to a clearer pop sound, creating a clear start and finish to each verse. This back-and-forth pushes the message of the song, which is that sometimes things need to end to get better.
