American rock mainstays The Technicolors have announced that their new album, Heavy Pulp, will be released on August 29 via SoundOn.

To go along with the announcement, the band released their new single “Softcore,” a gentle, atmospheric moment that captures the intimacy of reconnection both with music and with each other. “‘Softcore’ was one of the first ideas Brennan and I developed,” guitarist Sean Silverman shared. “It felt like discovering a song that had always been there… a tender moment after a more aggressive slate of tunes.”

Produced by Grammy nominated Robert Adam Stevenson (Queens of the Stone Age, The Kills) and featuring BRONCHO’s Nathan Price on drums, Heavy Pulp aims to be a sprawling and textured record. Frontman Brennan Smiley is currently touring with BRONCHO on guitar, adding another layer of creativity to the release.

Since emerging in 2012, The Technicolors have built a diverse catathe log and a steady fan base, with streaming numbers crossing the 100 million mark. Now spread between LA and Nashville, the band used their time away from the spotlight not to rest, but to regroup. The result is a darker, heavier, and more confident version of themselves, one that’s ready to reassert rock’s place in 2025’s musical landscape.
