PinkPantheress Brings a Playful, Theatrical Energy to Toronto’s Massey Hall

Date:

Night one of PinkPantheress‘ sold-out Toronto run on October 27th was a perfect blend of theatrics and pop. For for the first of three nights, Massey Hall was transformed into a full-on red theatrical setup complete with curtains, a screen backup that changed according to each song, and multiple costume changes that tied into the crimson theme.

Kicking off with “Stateside” and a minor curtain malfunction, PinkPantheress handled the hiccup effortlessly, laughing it off, apologizing to the crowd, and dove straight into her set. Backed up by a live drummer, a DJ, and two energetic dancers, her performance never missed a beat. From newer tracks like “Noises” to early favourites like “Pain,” every song hit with precision and tons of personality.

During the show, she spotted a fan wearing a wig and promptly snatched it mid-show before running off with it. Later, during “Romeo,” she invited a fan onstage to dance, who completely owned the spotlight and matched her backup dancers’ energy impressively.

Between songs, PinkPantheress chatted easily with the crowd, sharing a story about crossing the border earlier that day. After showing her documentation to a border patrol officer, he apparently exclaimed, “Massey Hall?! It’s the best venue!” She then shared: “Thank you for allowing me to perform at this amazing venue,” before being hilariously cut off by the ringtone that cued her final song, “Illegal.”

From playful choreography to effortless charm, PinkPantheress’ Toronto return was like a full-blown pop party, setting the tone perfectly for the rest of the three night extravaganza.
