Passion tangles with desire: Towa Bird’s newest single “Gentleman”

Date:

Calling all yearners and lovers to the front row as British singer-songwriter Towa Bird releases their newest (and hottest) single, “Gentleman.”

Some fans may recognize the artist’s name due to her relationship with Reneé Rapp, but Bird is much more than that, having built a very loyal following and solid career as a queer artist.

After releasing her debut single “Wild Heart” via Interscope Records, Towa released her first studio album American Hero in June 2024, containing popular songs such as “Drain Me!,” “Ew,” and “B.I.L.L.S.”

Birds’ fame steadily increased through posting guitar riffs and covers on TikTok. This led to her gaining attention from the likes of Tame Impala with her cover of “The Less I Know The Better.” Bird was also a featured guitarist in Olivia Rodrigo‘s Disney+ documentary, Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U. She also gained the attention of girlfriend Reneé Rapp,  opening for the Snow Hard Feelings NA & EU Tour in 2023, before the two made their relationship public in 2024.

“Gentleman,” is a classic indie-pop track with an accompanying sensual music video set in a luxury bar scene, conveying the desire and yearning laced within the lyrics: “Round and around and around we go / Got a dirty little secret baby nobody knows / Let em talk, talk, talk, they’re not in on the joke / One touch / And I already know / I’ll be your gentleman, I’ll be your gentleman.”

Much more can be expected from Towa Bird as this marks only the early stages of their successful career!
