Loren Heat is bringing the club back with euphoric new single “2009”

Date:

Think strobe lights, late nights and a love that feels just out of reach. Loren Heat is here to take us back to when pop was pure escapism.

What do you get when you cross the electric pulse of Lady Gaga’s The Fame era with the introspective edge of Robyn and the glam of Dua Lipa? You get “2009.”

Fresh off the back of their acclaimed debut EP Scarlet Haze, Loren returns with a time machine aimed straight at the heart of the dancefloor. “2009” is a neon-drenched ode to the nights that shaped us, the bangers that saved us, and the kind of deep, soul-twisting intimacy that can only be found under flashing lights and in whispered conversations just before sunrise.

Produced by long-time collaborator Chad Rodgers, “2009” arrives as a glittering anthem for a generation longing for connection. It kicks off with lush, retro-futuristic synths before exploding into a pulsating chorus that’s impossible not to move to. Loren’s vocal performance is equal parts precision and passion.

And let’s not ignore the message behind the magic. Loren, a proud queer artist from Middlesbrough, is on a mission to revive the sense of freedom and possibility the club once offered; a sanctuary for LGBTQIA+ youth, outcasts, dreamers. In a world still riddled with noise and chaos, “2009” dares to dream of better nights, of music that heals and dance floors that feel like home.

“The club scene is dying”, Loren says, “can we bring it back, like 2009?” If anyone can, it’s Loren Heat!
