Written by acclaimed theater critic and historian Daniel Pollack-Pelzner, the 400-page book is an inspirational page-turner, detailing the ways in which Miranda went from a hopeful artist to a defining cultural figure of his generation. Readers will follow Miranda as he and his family navigate life in an immigrant neighborhood in Manhattan, which was a big contributor to his artistic style. The mix of music, art, and culture that he found brought him to develop a unique voice, and his willingness to learn from those around him resulted in his success.
Included are over 150 original interviews, bringing fans to the center of all the action. There are vignettes from Miranda himself, as well as commentary from friends, family members, mentors, and collaborators.
