Foster The People took us into the Paradise State of Mind, a tour titled for their fourth studio album, at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on February 6th. Being the band’s first official tour in 7 years, one would never guess that it’s been that long since they’ve hit the stage on a full run.
Their setlist incorporated a balance across their releases, so no matter which era of Foster The People you connected with, you’ll find yourself enjoying the show. They’re truly an act you have to see for yourself—from the lighting and stage production to simply the mastery they’ve achieved in translating their songs live.
Los Angeles had the treat of witnessing Stewart Cole, who played trumpet and synth in their track “Glitchzig,” join the band on stage to play the trumpet live. You could really feel the emotion behind the playing, similar to its power in the studio version. Proceeds from both sold-out Los Angeles shows will also be benefiting relief efforts for the wildfires in California.
Opening up the night was UK duo Good Neighbours, performing TikTok hit single “Home” and their latest release, “Ripple,” off their forthcoming debut album, which they mentioned on stage. Their music is upbeat and engaging, and they had a crowd who was likely unfamiliar with their releases before singing the lyrics along with them.
Check out photos of both acts below and be sure to catch the remaining tour dates here.
