Lizzy McAlpine is older, and possibly even wiser, with the announcement of the deluxe edition of her latest studio album, Older (2024). The deluxe edition, titled, Older (and Wiser), is set to release on Oct. 4 and was announced today via McAlpine’s Instagram ahead of the release of her new single, “Pushing It Down and Praying”, which drops tonight, Sept. 20.
Older, originally released on April 5, 2024, through RCA Records, garnered widespread acclaim from fans and critics alike. This follows the success of her second studio album, Five Seconds Flat (2022), which propelled McAlpine to both critical and commercial recognition. Two lead singles from Older, the title track “Older” and “I Guess,” peaked at No. 33 and No. 26, respectively, on the Billboard US Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, solidifying McAlpine’s growing influence in the indie and alternative music scene.
The album peaked at No. 93 on the US Billboard 200, and the deluxe edition will add five bonus tracks to the original 14, including “Pushing It Down and Praying,” a demo of “Method Acting,” as well as three new tracks titled “Soccer Practice,” “Force Of Nature” and “Spring Into Summer.”
Fans can look forward to a more expansive journey with Older (and Wiser) as McAlpine continues to explore deeper themes of life, maturity and self-reflection.
