Siobhán Winifred faces obstacles in new song “Don’t Do Well Alone”

Date:

London star Siobhán Winifred is known for her pop-influenced indie rock sound. Her emotional and vulnerable songwriting allows her to connect with listeners on a deeper level, allowing them to see themselves in her songs. Her latest release “Don’t Do Well Alone” inspires listeners to search for inner confidence.

“Don’t Do Well Alone” shares the contrast between feeling trapped by battles with mental health and feeling free in the spotlight. Through smooth vocals and powerful guitar, Siobhán Winifred expresses her desire to clear her mind in her busy world. The chorus sings, “That’s all I’ve ever wanted / But someday everybody’s going to know / It’s not your fault / Cause you’re all I’ve ever needed / But I fall apart when I’m left on my own / I don’t do well alone” showing her want to shine on stage yet experiencing a sense of dread about her potential.

Sharing more about “Don’t Do Well Alone”, Siobhán Winifred comments:

“Don’t Do Well Alone is like a diary entry confessional about the anxiety and imposter syndrome I often feel. I feel alive when I’m performing on stage, but when I’m by myself, the anxiety and overthinking crawls back in and I can become very self-critical. I wanted the euphoria of performing to be captured through the production (this is my first song with trumpets!) and the intensely vulnerable lyrics to show how hard dealing with anxiety can be. It feels like Sam Fender meets Phoebe Bridgers – two huge influences of mine. I want ‘Don’t Do Well Alone’ to serve as a reminder to people that they’re not alone in how they feel, but also that they should reach out for help instead of suffering in silence.”
