Weston Estate dives into the past in “Where Do We Go?”

Date:

Lo-fi alternative band Weston Estate takes an introspective approach into a lost relationship on their latest single, “Where Do We Go?,” released earlier last month. Hailing from North Carolina, the self proclaimed “ya aunty’s favorite boy band” takes a hypnotic trip through breakups and heartbreak.

“Where Do We Go?” is immediately vulnerable, jumping into the many questions left after the end of a relationship. The emotions are complex, but they’re conveyed in the most gentle way: sorting through fond memories, doubts and metaphors that successfully tell the story. Despite being a breakup anthem, there’s a healthy dose of self awareness that is not only relatable, but also refreshing, especially amongst young men.

The instrumentation is pleasant and soothing, in stark contrast with the emotional lyrics; the soft guitars make the ambience intimate, as it slowly picks up speed during the chorus. Its peaceful quality makes it an extremely catchy, healing song you can listen to for hours on end as you navigate the pain of a broken heart.
