The Despair Faction, and all of us, have another reason to celebrate this year.
Following an extensive run of international dates across the UK and Europe, AFI has announced a third leg of their North American tour, with synth-pop act Choir Boy returning for the ride. After a successful second leg together, the two bands will kick off another on October 10 in New Jersey. The tour will travel through 12 cities — including stops in Baltimore, Columbus, and St. Louis — before a finale in Tucson, AZ, on October 28.
It’s a chance to hear tracks like “Holy Visions” and “Nooneunderground” in their intended setting: dark, loud, and all-consuming. Frontman Davey Havok’s stage presence and appearance tend to mirror the band’s continual shift, sonically moving to an even more ethereal space that feels a bit nostalgic and entirely new.
These shows serve as a victory lap for 2025’s Silver Bleeds The Black Sun…, an album that has cemented itself as one of the band’s most haunting additions to their storied discography. Beyond their headline dates, the band is also scheduled to perform at Sick New World in Texas on October 24.
