Matt Hansen is embracing a brighter side of heartbreak on his newest single, “THINKING BOUT ME.” Rather than dwelling on the end of a relationship, “THINKING BOUT ME” captures the familiar curiosity of wondering if someone from your past ever thinks about you, too. It’s a playful take on nostalgia, exploring how old connections can linger long after they’ve ended without necessarily meaning you want them back.

Released just weeks after his debut album Orchid landed at No. 6 on Spotify’s Top Albums Debut USA chart, the track trades heavy emotion for an upbeat, feel-good energy while still holding onto the vulnerability that has made Hansen one of independent music’s fastest-rising artists.

The release continues a remarkable year for Hansen, whose debut album has already surpassed 10 million streams in its first week and features fan favorites like “something to remember,” “LET EM GO,” and “yellowstone (holding you).” Since first building an audience through emotional acoustic covers on TikTok, Hansen has amassed more than one billion career streams and cultivated a loyal global fanbase by turning vulnerability into a source of connection.

Alongside the new single, Hansen also unveiled a sun-soaked music video and is preparing to take The Orchid Tour across the UK, Europe, Canada, and the United States later this year.

Following recent performances on national television and upcoming festival appearances at Summerfest and Bourbon & Beyond, “THINKING BOUT ME” shows that Hansen can make even bittersweet memories sound like the perfect soundtrack for summer.
