Reconnecting in the van: Underoath announces trek to Vans Warped Tour

Date:

Underoath by Jacob Moniz

Underoath return to their roots this summer with The Van Tour to Vans Warped Tour, powered by none other than… well… Vans.

The small-venue run kicks off June 8 in Jacksonville, FL, at The Albatross, stopping off at festivals such as Warped Tour, Louder Than Life, and Aftershock before wrapping up at Sick New World Festival. Held. — a new project featuring vocalist Douglas Robinson and bassist Sal Mignano of The Sleeping alongside Coheed and Cambria drummer Josh Eppard — will provide support throughout the tour. Due to the intimate venues along the route, several stops have already sold out, but fans can still find tickets for the remaining dates here.

When asked about returning to a method of touring that has long since lived in their past, guitarist Tim McTague told Knotfest:

“The idea of going back into a van, and reconnecting with how we used to tour, will be impactful at worst. At best, it’s an opportunity to reconnect in the same environment that we had prior in a new way and what that unlocks for us as friends, bandmates and more exciting to me…creatively. Putting the smallest shows of our career on sale to create an environment that hasn’t been seen since probably 2002, to me, is such an amazing experience for us and the handful of fans that will get in to these shows. It will be our moment together, mOst likely never to be repeated again.”
