Since their inception in 2020, Long Island heavyweights Pain of Truth have established themselves as a mainstay in modern hardcore. Following a six-year run that included multiple split releases, an EP, their debut LP, and endless global touring, they’re back and ready to go even harder.
Today, the band announced their self-titled sophomore full-length, PAIN OF TRUTH, set for release on September 25 via DAZE. The announcement arrives alongside the release of the lead single, “Unforgiven,” and its music video, directed by Luis Hernandez and Tyler Bradberry.
Created in collaboration with GRAMMY-winning producer Will Putney (Body Count, Incendiary, Counterparts), the 11-track collection works to deepen and enrich the band’s signature blend of traditional, heavy-hitting NYHC grooves and modern, swagger-filled attitude. “Unforgiven” serves as a shining example of what’s to come, charging forward with gritty guitar and aggressive vocals before collapsing into a massive, pit-ready breakdown.
“I wrote this track to give a sense of hope in horrible times,” shares vocalist Michael Brian Smith. “Using your energy to make a move and turning it into a win.”
The album announcement coincides with a West Coast run kicking off today in Los Angeles, followed by an appearance at Vans Warped Tour in Long Beach on July 25. Pain Of Truth will spend the remainder on the road, where they’re seemingly most comfortable, with appearances at Tokyo’s Bloodaxe Festival, Furnace Fest, Sick New World, Flyover Fest, and Warped Tour Orlando.
