Ken Burgan sheds light on his storied perspective with ‘Somewhere Else’

Date:

Ken Burgan is a living, Los Angeles-based legend. Formerly a saxophonist in Frank Zappa’s band, The Boogie Men, Burgan has been a part of rock and roll’s evolution since the very beginning. His new album, Somewhere Else, honors Burgan’s journey as a musician, father, and thinker.

Somewhere Else is a multi-generational capstone of creativity. Featuring production, bass, and drums from his son, Hunter Burgan, Somewhere Else blends family with artistry to amplify a singular vision. Filled to the brim with psychedelic ripples of electric guitar, thunderous crescendos of percussion, and dynamic vocals, Somewhere Else blurs the lines between real and surreal. His song, “Down There”, was released with a music video that captures a pensive Burgan as he navigates a hard choice while sitting on the steps of a church. Somewhere Else channels Burgan’s rich history and vibrant stories into a unique and confident perspective.
