mgk releases a hauntingly reimagined version of “cliché”

Last month, mgk officially kicked off the Lost Americana era with the lead single, “cliché.” This week, he surprised fans with the release of “cliché (sad version),” a stripped down take that reimagines the original. The focus shifts entirely to his voice, which feels both fragile and fierce. It is haunting in the best way—a reminder that while mgk can command a stadium, he can also whisper straight into your soul.

mgk is a one in a million talent, he doesn’t just sing the lyrics, he bleeds them. The singer has a rare ability to pull emotions out of listeners that maybe they didn’t know were there. He knows how to make his fans feel all at once, in an earth shattering way.

The Cleveland native has already taken the single to the main stage, delivering a stand out performance on The Today Show, at Warped Tour, and at The Kids Choice Awards, where he was introduced by his daughter. The performance ended with the ultimate Nickelodeon honor—getting absolutely drenched by slime.
