blackbear has officially returned to the music scene with his latest single, “britney in 07.” The multi-platinum singer wrapped up 2025 with another great track added to his discography.
The song is titled and inspired by one of the most defining moments in pop culture’s history: in 2007, Britney Spears’ mental health struggles were highly publicized and resulted in mockery. Flipping the narrative, bear uses Spears’ experience as a metaphor for his own struggles, opening the song with “i feel like britney in 07 / u about to catch these hands / going through some shit / it seems like no one understands.”
He addresses the heavily meme-saturated society we now live in, which contributed to the overload he experienced emotionally. Fans are more than excited that blackbear has returned, since this is his first new piece of music in three years. This also officially marks the first single off his next album, analogue dream.
