When we attended Dover, Delaware’s Firefly Festival last year, we left convinced that it was working its way into the upper echelon of North American music festivals. Between its idyllic location in the Woodlands of Delaware, the top-notch production that accompanied stages like The Treehouse and The Pavillion, and the eclectic lineups that seem to hit an intersection between what’s on festival lineups elsewhere and truly unique bookings, expectations were pretty high for its 2022 lineup. That’s dropped today, and it’s safe to say that those expectations have been exceeded: headlining Firefly this year from September 22-25 will be Halsey, My Chemical Romance, Green Day, and Dua Lipa. That’s a murderer’s row of headliners that you won’t catch anywhere else.
