Bora York reflects on the past in new song “Glow Hover”

Date:

Bora York is a husband-and-wife duo, Chris and Rebekah Bartels, from Minneapolis. What originally began as a group recording a folk album for a senior project soon evolved into a band experimenting with different sounds and genre-blending. Their new song “Glow Hover” focuses on nostalgia.

“Glow Hover” is about reflecting on the past. Through light synth and soft vocals, Bora York thinks back to simpler times. “Glow Hover” continues the relaxed, fun energy highlighted in Bora York’s new era of music, which will be seen on their upcoming album. Chris shares,

“I’m finally making my chillwave-obsessed album. For real. It’s playful on purpose. Chillwave always had this ‘is this serious?’ thing going on… and I’ve leaned into that. It’s not trying to prove anything. It’s just me having fun again.”
