3OH!3 releases high-energy new single “HIT ME HARDER”

Date:

3OH!3 has released a new track titled “HIT ME HARDER,” the followup to their first single in five years, “SLUSHIE,” via their own label 3OH!3 Records.

“HIT ME HARDER” sounds like a classic 3OH!3 song with synth-heavy production and humor-infused lyrics that showcase the carefree, fun attitude they are known for. In the chorus, they sing, “Showed up to the bar with broken ribs and ordered water / Yeah, this beat hits hard, but her boyfriend hit me harder.”

About the inspiration behind the song, the alternative duo says:

“‘HIT ME HARDER’ started as a nod to that gritty, underground dance-rock scene we came up on — where the beats were dirty, the lyrics were sassy, and the energy was pure chaos. What’s funny is that we felt inspired by the new era of ‘indie-sleaze,’ when, in a lot of ways, that movement felt derivative of our original music. So, are we just ripping ourselves? I think all that matters at the end of the day is if this beat hits hard.”

3OH!3 is about to hit the road, with stops in Orlando for the Warped Tour, and in Anaheim, CA, and Brooklyn, NY, for a special celebration the 15th anniversary of their album Streets of Gold. Fans can find tickets here.
