Date:

On November 18, 2022 Silversun Pickups  finished out their Physical Thrills tour at Marathon Music Works in Nashville, Tennessee. Supporting act for the Physical Thrills tour was Australian band Eliza and the Delusionals. This tour began on September 28, 2022 in San Diego, California, and played in major cities including Boston, Philadelphia, and Orlando.

Formed in 2006 Brisbane, Australia based band Eliza and The Delusionals, began the show with “Give You Everything” which sparked immediate interest from the crowd. Vocalist, Eliza Klatt, had a very positive and bubbly demeanor as she performed her heart out. During their 45 minute set, Eliza spoke to the crowd about how grateful she was to be on tour with her favorite band, Silversun Pickups, and how much she loved and appreciated them. Eliza and The Delusionals released their first studio album in May 2022 titled “Now and Then” which was nominated for Australian Album of the Year, and won Rock Song of the Year at Queensland Music Awards in 2020 for their hit “Just Exist.” They played a total of nine songs including “YOU,” “Halloween,” and “Save Me” although some were not very familiar with the band, they made numerous fans that night as the crowd began chanting their name. Closing out the night with their most popular song “Just Exist” Silversun Pickups joined the stage and played along side Eliza and The Delusionals which sent the crowd into a frenzy. Once the final note was played hugs were exchanged amongst the band members and the crowd began to stir for what was next to come, Silversun Pickups.

The second and final act of the night was headliner, Silversun Pickups. Formed in 2000, SSPU is an alternative rock band most known for their hits “Lazy Eye” and “Panic Switch”. Since forming, SSPU have released six studio albums, the most recent being in 2022 titled Physical Things. This four-piece band is most influenced by bands Smashing Pumpkins and My Bloody Valentine, but have a very unique sound of their own. During their 90 minute set SSPU played a total of 19 songs, including “Sticks and Stones,” “Kissing Families,” “Hidden Moon,” and “Nightlight.” During the set vocalist Brian Aubert, took time to talk to the fans, stating how much they love performing in Nashville, as well as encouraging the crowd to interact during the song by clapping, and singing along. It became very evident that SSPU loves performing, and are extremely passionate about their fans as the night went on. Needless to say Nashville did not want this show to end, and the crowd could not get enough of SSPU. With over 1.2 million monthly Spotify listeners and 67k Instagram followers, its safe to say they are not going anywhere anytime soon, and Nashville fans cannot wait to have them back on stage in the near future.  Although the Physical Things tour may have finished out in Nashville, SSPU has announced new tour dates beginning in December, click HERE for more information.
