Florence + The Machine Release Previously Unheard Demos

Date:

In honor of LUNGS’s ten year anniversary, Florence + The Machine are releasing allll of the things.  The album was released ten years ago this week and put Florence + The Machine on everyone’s radar.  Naturally, the band wants to celebrate such a historic album and milestone in style, by giving us new tracks, new photos, and a lot of feelings.

On July 3, the band announced that they will be releasing a LUNGS box set, a special anniversary edition colored vinyl, and a cassette.  The box set contains the original album on colored vinyl, bonus tracks on vinyl, and postcards of the band during the LUNGS era.  The cassette will not be included in the box set and the colored vinyl will also be made available to purchase separately from the box set.

You can already listen to two of the tracks from the bonus vinyl, as the band released them earlier this week.  Both tracks, “Donkey Kosh” and “My Best Dress” are demos, so we hear the band in a very raw, exposed form.  For the most part, the tracks are acoustic, featuring Florence singing her heart out over the playful strumming of the guitar.  They are very simple and beautiful tracks; you can clearly see a visual in your head as you listen.

Everything will officially be dropping August 16, but you can pre-order here.

You can listen to “Donkey Kosh” and “My Best Dress” on sites like Apple Music and Spotify.
