This past weekend, When We Were Young announced this year’s temporary hiatus.

A brief yet heartfelt statement on their website and across their socials reads as follows:

Mixed reactions were received in the wake of this news. Coming as a shock to many pop-punk fans, some speculate that the decision intertwines with the return of Vans Warped Tour, financial hurdles for devotees, and lack of underrated, new talent.

When We Were Young was founded by Live Nation Entertainment in 2017 and hosted its first event at The Observatory in Santa Ana, CA. Shortly after this modest achievement, WWWY took a 5-year hiatus before its long-awaited revival in 2022.

Just like it never left, When We Were Young continued to gain proficient success in bringing notable pop-punk bands into the spotlight; selling out every festival since its resurgence.

From last year’s headliners Panic! At the Disco and blink-182 to nostalgic bands like Crown The Empire and Straylight Run, When We Were Young provides memorable moments where alternative communities across all spectrums can thrive.

As they said, though, this isn’t the end! Stay tuned for further information by following their socials below.
