Phoenix announces new album ‘Alpha Zulu’ with “Tonight” ft. Ezra Koenig

Date:

Since sharing the single “Alpha Zulu” (which has caused the interjection WOO-HA to be stuck in my head all summer) and announcing a world tour, French indie stalwarts Phoenix have been relatively quiet. There’s a whole lot to report on today — the band has announced that Alpha Zulu, the follow-up to 2017’s Ti Amo will be released on November 4th. Alongside the announcement comes “Tonight”, which features guest vocals from Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig and a very entertaining video directed by Oscar Boyson. “Tonight” finds Thomas Mars duetting with Koenig over a track that recalls the band’s early college-rock heyday; it’s the first time the band has collaborated with a guest vocalist, and their two voices fit in seamlessly on the track. If you’ve been looking for jams akin to Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix and the soundtrack to your 2010s experiences, they’re in high supply here. Watch the music video below and keep scrolling to find their world tour dates:
