In Melodic Magazine’s next release, we spotlight the artists shaping the future of alternative music with a special Summer School tour cover series. Now in its third year, the idobi Radio Summer School Tour was founded by Kevin Lyman (Warped Tour), Eric Tobin (Hopeless Records), and Michael Kaminsky (KMGMT) with the goal of capturing the spirit of artist discovery and community that defined a generation of alternative music fans. Featuring some of the scene’s most exciting rising acts–Honey Revenge, South Arcade, Games We Play, Winona Fighter, Chase Petra–the tour has quickly become a celebration of the genre’s next wave.
In our June/July issue, Honey Revenge reflects on returning to Summer School as the tour’s first-ever repeat performer while embracing a new era with their upcoming sophomore album. South Arcade discusses channeling the colorful energy of early 2000’s rock into something entirely their own, proving nostalgia and innovation can coexist. Games We Play shares how fatherhood, burnout, and reclaiming identity through his most personal album yet. Chase Petra opens up about inclusivity, vulnerability, and why making a fool out of yourself might be the key to genuine connection. Winona Fighter discusses the spirit of DIY punk and basement show energy to a new generation of fans, while advocating for the change they want to see in the scene.
