Recorded with a 39-piece ensemble orchestra, This Is Home captivates with triumphant flares of brass, evocative notes of violin, and powerful vocals championed by Whitmore herself. Focus track, “The House I Live In”, is an ode to the people, places, and experiences that fuel American life. The six-track collection features both covers and original songs that celebrate the spirit of America on its 250th birthday.
Revealing more on her patriotic EP, Whitmore shares, “I love my country. America – what a concept. The first time in modern history a nation was founded on ideals of liberty and self-rule, with citizens who govern themselves—without a king or a state-enforced religion. No wonder it’s called “The Great Experiment.” I come from a patriotic family. Both of my parents were in the United States Army. If you drive by my house on Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, or any other national holiday, you will see the stars and stripes flying proudly over my front door.”
This Is Home was produced and arranged by the GRAMMY®-nominated composer, Chris Walden. Walden has worked with legendary artists among the likes of Paul McCartney, Barbra Streisand, and Stevie Wonder. This Is Home sheds light on the everyday moments that feed the fire of our country at large.
