Ice Nine Kills secure first RIAA-Certified Gold with ‘The Silver Scream’

Date:

As they continue to travel through the country, playing sold out shows on their Silver Scream-A-Thon headline tour Ice Nine Kills accomplish yet another major career milestone. Earlier this month the band’s 2018 single “A Grave Mistake” hit RIAA-certified gold, a first for the band. The single, inspired by the 1994 cult classic film, The Crow, and off their smash album The Silver Scream has now amassed over 100 million streams across. This status officially marks “A Grave Mistake” as one of the most enduring and evocative songs in the band’s discography.

Ice Nine Kills creative mastermind and frontman, Spencer Charnas shares: “I am filled with human emotions after ingesting the data that my musical ensemble has achieved a golden status for the very first time. Programmed with a hauntingly harmonic minor cadence, 175 bpm, and a 3/4 time signature, it sufficiently garnered more than half a million sales equivalents.”

The RIAA-certified gold adorned song is now also available for fans to listen to on the band’s new live album, I Heard They Kill Live 2 which is now available for streaming here. All songs on the album were captured during Ice Nine Kill’s sold-out, home-state show at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, MA in 2022.

The record perfectly encapsulates the band’s high energy of their meticulously planned and executed shows while showcasing a lethal setlist that includes songs spanning across two of the band’s biggest albums, The Silver Scream and The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood. Charnas sums up the album best stating: “Captured in optimal performance conditions during a sold-out operation in the geographical region of Massachusetts, this album contains high-energy sonic outputs calibrated for maximum efficiency. As a result, these auditory data files will undoubtedly prove supremely satisfactory to the devoted ICE NINE KILLS user base, aka, the Cyclos!”

With yet another career-defining accomplishment in the books, Ice Nine Kills remains one of the strongest and most inventive forces in the alternative scene and only time will tell what else is in store for listeners.
