Millennials reading this who were into the Hopeless Records roster back in the early 2000’s may remember the name Anarbor. What you may not know is that the Phoenix, Arizona based alt band achieved mainstream success after penning numerous TV show themes, including Cartoon Network’s “Scooby Doo! The Mystery Begins”, ESPN’s SportsCenter, Good Day L.A. and MLB Network Countdown.
Since then the band has put out three studio albums and, most recently, independently released their new single “Honeymoon in Tokyo.” The track, which features dreamy electro-pop elements while still weaving in organic drums and guitars, is perfect for fans of artists such as The 1975, Portugal. The Man, or Twenty One Pilots.
Danny Strayers, guitarist of Anarbor, says:
“Honeymoon in Tokyo is the relationship goals song about a confident, badass couple that runs off to Tokyo for their secret, passionate honeymoon. They don’t need to share everything they do with the world constantly because they’re completely satisfied in the real world with one another. Their security in their relationship makes them all the more interesting, and since they keep it to themselves, everybody wants to know what they do when they’re alone.”
