Kicking off the weekend, sace6 brought their brutalist, initial display tour to the Milkboy in Philadelphia. Before they hit the stage, John Harvie warmed up the crowd and got everyone on their feet.
Born and raised in Philly, John is already a a strong up-and-coming sound in the rock scene. Most recently, he released his single “BREAK” on top of announcing his upcoming EP (I Keep It) Real. With this being his first hometown show since opening for Bilmuri last summer, the audience made sure to give him an energetic welcome back.
Hitting the stage at half past 7pm, the intro track played as John came out to loud yells and cheers from the crowd. He opened the set with “Lost Cause,” bringing in the high energy right away. Even though he wasn’t the main act, he got the crowd jumping and moving around as if he was.

From there he sang “Kiss Me,” an unreleased song from his upcoming EP. Keeping the momentum strong, he transitioned into his 2023 single “At My Worst.” Between John making his way back and forth on the stage and his band playing the drums and guitar behind him, he made sure there wasn’t one person letting their attention wander.
To prep for his next song, John got everyone in the room to bounce and jump around with him. He dove right into performing “HACKYSACK!”, one of his newer singles. As it’s been established as a fan-favorite, it was exciting to see the sace6 crowd loving it, too. He then jumped right into “BREAK,” calling on the moshers to do what they do best.
He immediately sang “Alaina” off his debut album told ya., then opened an even bigger mosh pit again for “Do Your Worst”.

Towards the end of his set, John taught the crowd some of the lyrics to his next song. He went on to sing “Bleach (On the Rocks)”, one of his most popular releases to date, easily keeping fans energetic under the warm stage lights.
After John made the crowd think this was the end of his show, the last-minute announcement that he had one more song to sing was music to everyone’s ears. He closed with “Figure 8,” leaving the stage with both loud cheers and new fans.

To no one’s surprise, John gave an electric performance that left the audience only wanting more, giving his all and leaving it out on the stage. He plays every gig like he’s headlining an arena. With his one-of-a-kind gift, he’s on his way to becoming the next big thing; John Harvie is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
John is still opening for sace6 on their tour from now until June 21 in Cleveland. While most of these shows are sold out, remaining tickets for select dates are available here.
This week, John also goes back to Nashville for an incredible headline show, where he’ll be playing (I Keep It) Real in full for the first time; tickets are now on sale here.
