2026 is already set to be an energetic year for John; he was just confirmed to play Vans Warped Tour Orlando and is opening for Memphis May Fire in Louisville, with more news hidden under wraps. In addition to this new song, John just announced his upcoming EP, (I Keep It) Real. The project includes his last 5 singles, plus 3 more unreleased ones.
Deeply rooted in rock, “BREAK” is high-energy from front to back. It opens with an electronic mix, diving right into a cool drum and guitar duo that matches the immediate urgency of the lyrics: “Feel like every breath you take / Is poison in my mouth / “My lungs are giving up / I think I’m going numb / The serotonin rush / There’s toxin in my blood.” John makes this toxic relationship feel physical, verbalizing the bodily collapse and the burnout.
Then the chorus hits, feeling like a final breaking point: “I think I need a break / So sick of you / You never give, you take / I’m living proof / It’s already over, I won’t cry for you / Won’t die for you.” The beat drops, shifting the tone from internal to explosive. John is able to make the song feel emotionally expressive yet controlled, giving him a unique edge as an underground artist.
