Niall Horan celebrates 5 year anniversary of ‘Heartbreak Weather’ with some new additions and unreleased tracks

Date:

The wait is finally over as everyone’s favorite cheeky Irishman is back! In celebration of the 5th anniversary of Heartbreak Weather, Niall Horan has announced an expanded version of the acclaimed sophomore album featuring bonus tracks “Dress” and “Nothing,” along with live and stripped-back versions of several songs off the album. With a brand new look for the cover featuring a sky blue background and accompanying lightning bolt, the 22-track Heartbreak Weather (5 Year Anniversary Edition) was digitally released today, March 28, with the accompanying CD and two-disc deluxe vinyl editions following on August 15.

While most people might recognize March 13, 2020, as the day the world was forever changed from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, us Niall Horan fans had our worlds changed that day in a different, much sweeter way — with the release of the groundbreaking album that is Heartbreak Weather. With the unforeseeable occurring, Horan was forced to wait until just last year in 2024 to tour these songs, but it didn’t keep the album from soaring to No. 1 on the UK’s Official Albums chart and Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart during the 2020 release.

Pulling from overarching themes of heartbreak, Horan writes Heartbreak Weather recalling  personal experiences and the rollercoaster of emotions he battled within a relationship, from beginning to end. Working on the album, Horan strove to pose a different take on breakup songs, writing from all different angles with the goal of creating a concept album, because, “when you go through a breakup, it’s not sad all the time.”

Horan concluded his recent social media post promoting the anniversary edition album noting: “The way it’s become a fan favourite over these past few years has truly made me so happy. Thank you for continuing to embrace it all these years later.” Stream Heartbreak Weather (5 Year Anniversary Edition) now!
