Misterwives get spooky with just for one nightmare in Boston

Date:

Misterwives returned to Boston for a special spooky Halloween show at House of Blues. It was one of two Halloween shows for the band as this one fell on the day before Halloween but everyone was still dressed up and in the spooky spirit. Everyone was in for a fun night ahead.

Led by the powerhouse vocals of Mandy Lee, MisterWives has always been a band that thrives on stage, and this show was no exception. The rest of the band—comprised of Etienne Bowler (drums), Marc Campbell (guitar), Will Hehir (bass) and Mike Murphy(sax/keys) —showed impressive musicianship, blending tight rhythms with energetic instrumentation that kept the show upbeat and exciting.

This tour was a special one as it was announced it would be their last tour for awhile, but it not being a goodbye, just a see you later. The band had asked fans to help pick out the setlist for the tour as they wanted to include as many of their songs from their entire discography as possible. I’d say they did a pretty good job compiling a setlist spanning their 10+ years together as a band. They played classics like “Our Own House”  “Vagabond”, and “Superbloom”, along with newer songs like “Vultures” and “Organized Chaos”.

Not only was a fantastic setlist played but since it was deemed a Halloween show, the band came out in costume and they were none other than the Addams family, on a Wednesday of course. Halloween shows are always a blast and they made sure this one was going to be special. Each member was absolutely slaying their costumes and we can’t forget the audience who also showed up in various costumes, much of which were misterwives themed with a lot of tartan plaid and red bows, which the band would usually wear on stage. It was a high energy night full of laughs, tears, and dancing.

Misterwives always know how to put on a great show and make it special each time they come to Boston. This one was a little bittersweet having it be the last show for awhile. But we know we will see them soon enough again. Every show I’ve been to of theirs I’ve always had a fantastic time and felt so welcome. They have such a great community and their shows feel like home. We can’t wait to see what they get up to next!
