Isabel Pless shares her pain in new song “The Bite”

Date:

Inspired by musical icons such as Joni Mitchell, The Chicks, and Alanis Morissette, Isabel Pless takes pride in her captivating storytelling. As a self-proclaimed “word girl”, her songs have reached the ends of the earth, amassing over 1.4 million streams on her 2023 EP, Bad Luck Letting You Go. Her latest release, “The Bite”, is a soft ballad that processes overwhelming emotions.

“The Bite” is a narrative focused on the weight of anger and anxiety. Through bitter acoustic guitar and layered harmonies, Isabel Pless crafts a mosaic of her grief, insecurity, and rage after a rough breakup. Lyrics such as, “Does it even matter who is at fault? / I’ll take the blame / Even though I don’t know what I did wrong” show the confusion this separation has created, causing Isabel Pless to feel isolated and hurt.
