Shawn Mendes sends waves of excitement through the music industry with the announcement of his 5th studio album ‘Shawn’

Date:

After four long years without a new album, the Canadian prince of pop, Shawn Mendes, has officially begun his comeback with the announcement of his fifth studio album, Shawn. The album is out on October 18th and consists of 12 new tracks, including “Why Why Why” and “Isn’t That Enough”, which are set to be released on August 8th at 8pm ET. Pre-order the album here.

Shawn was written and co-produced by Mendes, Scott Harris, and Mike Sabath in Costa Rica, New York, Nashville, and Washington. Listeners can expect to be taken on a journey through self-dialogue. This is the most honest Shawn has been on an album.

Music really can be medicine. Two years ago I felt like I had absolutely no idea who I was. A year ago I couldn’t step into the studio without falling into a complete panic. So to be here, right now, with 12 beautiful finished songs feels like such a gift. Honestly, thank god for my friends and family. Life can be brutal, but having a small group of people you deeply trust to walk you through makes it so much better. I have no idea how I would have made it through the last couple years, let alone make an album without you.

The multiplatinum, GRAMMY-nominated singer has solidified his spot as a pop sensation. All four of his albums, Handwritten, Illuminate, Shawn Mendes, and Wonder all debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 Chart, and he’s had several #1 hit singles including “Stitches”, “Treat You Better”, “There’s Nothing Holding Me Back”, and “Wonder”. Mendes has achieved several accolades, including multiple wins at the American Music Awards, Juno Awards, and MTV Awards. The singer-songwriter has captured the hearts of millions of people around the world and will continue to do so with the start of this new era.
