Nick Hexum unveils ‘Full Memories,’ the second installment of a lunar-themed trilogy

Date:

Nick Hexum has unveiled Full Memories, the second EP in his lunar-themed trilogy, following February’s Waxing Nostalgic. The third installment, Waning Time, has been predicted to be released this summer.

The 311 frontman created an EP full of Americana and bluegrass-style instrumentation and collaborated with Nick Drake and Alan Hampton on “Just to See You Smile” and kept it in the family on “Where I Belong,” a track co-written by his sister. Full Memories is a five-track collection, bringing four original reflective tracks to his discography and a cover of Chappell Roan‘s “California.”

About Roan’s “California,” Hexum said:

“‘California’ is a Chappell Roan cover that I chose because I really related with the lyrics.  It’s a story about being a midwestern kid who moves to California to pursue big dreams but having mixed feelings about it.  This is exactly what happened to me at the age of seventeen before I moved back to Omaha to start 311 with my high school friends.  Of course it worked out just fine but at the time I did feel like a failure. Her song captures it well.

Full Memories Tracklist:
1. Just to See You Smile
2. Please Explain
3. Careless
4. Where I Belong
5. California (Chappell Roan Cover)
