Up-and-coming Cult Caves share new alt rock track “Shadow Diver”

Date:

Utah-based project Cult Caves is the work of
Tyson Henrie and friends. Released in early March, “Shadow Diver” is Cult Cave’s third single. It is a jangly track that crosses dream rock and garage rock—a combination of grit and luster. Reminiscent of The Gloomies, Elephant Castle, and Arcade Fire, Cult Caves explores an atmospheric sound with glossy synths and keys and subtle harmonies, grounded by clear and rich vocals.

A Las Vegas native, Tyson grew up writing songs and singing in a punk band opening for popular 90’s acts like The Offspring and Rancid. After fronting the college indie band Arson Car, he toured briefly with Big Talk, the solo project of Ronnie Vannucci, drummer of The Killers.

It was in college that Tyson began writing alternative songs closest to his current work. He releases his latest tracks under the alias Cult Caves, a name which was inspired by parsing certain melodies in the song “Shadow Diver.” “Some of the melodies came to me in a dream,” reflects Tyson. The song was recorded at home and mixed and mastered at June Audio Recording Studios in Utah. Cult Caves has plans to release new music throughout 2023.
