Just Like Heaven announces 2023 lineup with Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT, and Empire of the Sun

Date:

The Goldenvoice-produced festival Just Like Heaven has staked its brand on assembling an impressive number of 00s blog-rock stalwarts. Last year, the festival had acts like Interpol and The Shins on the top line, with classics like Wolf Parade, Peaches, and !!! rounding out the bill.

Today, the festival has unveiled its 2023 edition with an equally-massive grouping of beloved artists from that scene, with the top two acts being the reunited Yeah Yeah Yeahs and MGMT playing their landmark 2007 album Oracular Spectacular from start-to-finish for what I believe is the first time ever. Elsewhere on the bill you can find acts like Empire of the Sun, M83, a recently-reunited The Walkmen, and it gets even more niche down low with Fever Ray, Ladytron, and Azealia Banks. Seeing The Bravery in sunny Pasadena sounds like a pretty bomb way to spend your summer, in my honest opinion.

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 AM PST, and this year’s festival will take place on May 13th at Brookside at the Rose Bowl – the location for festivals like This Ain’t No Picnic in recent years. Check out the poster above and read more about the festival here.
